Theater Announcement_FB_UnleashedUnleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption, based in Mission, Kansas, has teamed up with Rescue Dogs the Movie to find a forever home for Shushanna.

To assist in getting Shushanna adopted, the nonprofit group and filmmakers have declared her the official Rescue Dogs Kansas City mascot. Together, they intend to find Shushanna a forever family of her very own.

This is part of the film’s latest initiative to bring more awareness around rescue animals and to get homeless pets adopted. Be sure to check out the adoptable Rescue Dogs advocates near you:

  • Rihanna is available through Second Chance Rescue in New York.

Unleashed was founded in 2011 and has saved over 10,000 lives as of 2015.

“Unleashed Pet Rescue was started from my heart and grew with the combination of hearts we now call our Unleashed family,” President and Founder Danielle Reno says.

The 501(c)3 nonprofit organization works to save the lives of homeless pets and strives to improve the image of bully breeds in society.

“We also work daily with high kill shelters in the Kansas City area to pull ‘unwanted’ pets to safety,” their website notes, “We rely on fosters, adopters and donations to make it all happen!”Shush4

Shushanna is a 3.5-year-old Pit Bull mix and her name means “Graceful Lily” in Hebrew. According to her Facebook page, she’s into tater tots and loves treats in general. She’s already spayed and crate-trained, and although she’s not a fan of cats she’s fine with some dogs. She prefers to hang out with older children and is a quick learner.

If you’re looking for a new furry friend, Shushanna’s the dog for you! This classy lady was abandoned, left alone to fend for not only herself but her litter of puppies, too. Luckily, Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption saved them. All of Shushanna’s babies have found their forever homes, and now it’s her turn!

Unleashed and Rescue Dogs hope their partnership will ensure Shushanna finds her fur-ever home by the end of the film’s opening week, April 7. Filmmakers will cover her adoption fee.

To help #RescueShushanna, please share her story. Let’s find this friendly mama the family she deserves!
