Pint-sized Arthur the Chinese Crested Chihuahua has had a tough start for a six-week old. The little pup with rock star hair is the latest heartbreaker over at Millbrook Animal Centre across the pond. Staff members at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in the UK think Arthur was abandoned shortly after being taken away from his mother too soon.
At the time of his rescue, Arthur was suffering from hypothermia, weighed one pound, and had foot sores. His internal body temperature was four degrees lower than average.
Due to the pup’s adorably small size, rescuers struggled to find a way to keep him warm. Liz Wood, the center’s deputy manager seen in the video below, discovered Arthur fit perfectly into children’s socks.
Arthur, donning the latest in Tweety Bird fashion, already has a foster home booked. Until he’s ready to head home, he’ll continue rockin’ the sweet sock-sweaters with his too-cool-for-school bedhead. Check out the video below to see him in action!
